Chinese New Year is a great festival! I get to take lots of ang paos( red packets) and also get to get together with my cousins, as we seldom see each other. During Chinese New Year, my family and I go house visiting. When we visit a realative's house, the younger generation have pay their respect by saying happy new year with two mandarin oranges. Then after saying that, we will be collecting our ang paos! We will also have tibits to eat! So cool, right? It is like having a party in ur relative's house. The fun part is always getting together with my cousins to play and talk. Too bad the adults is always chattering among themselves and not joining us. The fun part is also always the worst part. My cousins and I keep getting into quarrels whenever we do not agree on something, as some of us want to play an army game, while some of us want to play some kind of cooking game, so that's why we quarrelled. I like Chinese New Year, but is the way my relatives and my family thinks that I don't like, but I know that I can change that, and I will keep on trying.

Lunar New Year or commonly known as the Chinese New Year is celebrated by many in the world. CNY is the time of the year where we can go to our relatives' house to do house visiting and at the same time do some catching up. The best part about CNY is receiving red packets ! Nono, i'm just joking. The best part is really spending time with your family and friends. That is the best of everything :) The food we normally eat are Love Letters, Melon Seeds, Bak Gua etc. Food like these are very popular during the CNY season. I spent each CNY with my relatives, and that is what i love about it most.Matthew's Opinion
I feel that CNY is a time when we celebrate a new year, a new beginning, a new start. On the eve of CNY my family will have a steamboat reunion dinner, and when the clock strikes midnight me and my brother will take oranges to give to our parents as a term of respect and in return we will receive our red packets. The first and second day of the CNY my family will go around visiting and collecting those delightable red packets. We also eat a wide range of food ranging from the simplest of nuts to the "Bah Kua" or barbequed pork or even the new year goodies like chocolate or sun flower seeds.

I feel that Chinese New Year is a time, where all our family members come together as one and celebrate. For the unmarried, we give oranges in exchange for ong bao’s (red packets) and for the married, vice versa. We wish each other well wishes like having good prosperity and good health, etc. We also believe not to quarrel on that day as it will mean that we will quarrel for the rest of the year. We get to eat all sorts of chinese tidbits like the ‘’love letter’’ , pineapple tarts, kueh lapis, kueh bancake, butter cake, etc. I especially love the butter cake that my auntie makes, as she is never fussy about the butter. Unfortunately, one of my relative has died and so we were not supposed to visit his family, so I could only go to 4 different relatives house. Oh no! That means less ang bao and less money!!! However, this Chinese New Year was enjoyable and fun.
